What is this all about?!

It was about October 2020 when I - Susanne - first saw the FB ad  for the Oxfam Trailwalker. I'd heard about it before and it sounded intriguing.

After the year that was 2020, a physical challenge such as this, and doing something for a good cause in the process of it sounded like a great thing to have in my life.

I put it out the network and quickly had 3 positive responses back so I signed us up.

100km within 36 hours

So 100km in 36hours as a team of 4 - so we each walk 25km, right?!

Nope, not quite.

We all walk all of the 100km - TOGETHER. Oh whoops.... anyway, we're all signed up so off we go. Let the training begin.

Over the past few months we've juggled to fit in regular walks, individually and as a team, sometimes just two of us, sometimes three or even all four of us.

Unfortunately, due to an unlucky injury one of our original team members had to make the tough decision to pull out. But we were super fortunate to have the wonderful Megan jump on board... two months out from the event.

But there is more to this than just walking 100km

The cause behind this great event is to raise awareness and much needed funds for Oxfam - an organisation dedicated to fight injustice and poverty in the world. In New Zealand, the focus is on working within the South Pacific.

As a condition of being able to participate in the event and face the physical challenge of walking the 100km we need to raise a total of $2000 before the 19th March.

We're hoping you can help us raise the much needed funds!
